Well right off the bat Bugliosi's explanation doesn't hold a drop of water for me. It is the most ridiculous murder motive I have ever heard of and it surprises me that 12 men and women could have found Charles Manson guilty based on "Helter Skelter". The people who testified against Charles Manson barely knew him. All of them had been motivated by deals in other criminal cases, the prospect of reward money, or losing custody of their children. If Manson could have put on a defense I am sure this would have all been brought to the attention of the jurors in a way that they couldn't have ignored.
There are some strange facts about this case and evidence that should not have been ignored, or barely touched on and dismissed by investigators. Mainly having to do with the last drug dealer that was probably the last person to have seen the group at the Tate house alive, and that was Joel Rostau. Joel Rostau was out on bail for a drug arrest that occurred in April. He was with Jay Sebring's secretary when it occurred, and she reportedly told the police after the murders that Joel Rostau told her that he had been up to the Cielo Drive house that day and was supposed to have returned with more drugs that he didn't have on hand when he made the first trip up there.
There was a major cover up by both local and federal law enforcement which I believe centered around Joel Rostau and his mafia connected associates. As I acquire more proof and evidence to this theory I will post it. As of now. That will be the theme of this blog.
